Privacy Policy
Who we are

At Become Aligned, we are committed to maintaining the trust and confidence of our clients and the visitors to our website. We don’t sell, rent or trade email lists with other companies for marketing purposes. In this Privacy Policy, we explain when and why we collect your personal information, how we use it, the limited conditions under which we may disclose it to others and how we keep it secure.

What personal data we collect and why we collect it

We collect different information depending on what service we provide to you.
Contact Forms
By filling in our enquiry forms, you freely give your name, email and any details supplied with your enquiry. This information is used to process your enquiry only. Your personal information is kept private and stored securely until a time it is no longer required or has no use. We never give your personal information to any third party or add you to any mailing list communication.
Mailing Lists
If you opt in to our mailing list, we collect personal information so that we can send you relevant updates by email. We don't rent or trade email lists with other organisations and businesses.
We use a third-party provider, Mailerlite, to deliver our emails. We gather statistics around email opening and clicks using industry standard technologies to help us monitor and improve our services. For more information, please see MailerLite’s privacy policy. You can unsubscribe to general mailings at any time of the day or night by clicking the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails or by emailing our data protection officer Heather McKay.

Comments
When visitors leave comments on the site we collect the data shown in the comments form, and also the visitor’s IP address and browser user agent string to help spam detection.

An anonymized string created from your email address (also called a hash) may be provided to the Gravatar service to see if you are using it. The Gravatar service privacy policy is available here: https://automattic.com/privacy/. After approval of your comment, your profile picture is visible to the public in the context of your comment.

Media
If you upload images to the website, you should avoid uploading images with embedded location data (EXIF GPS) included. Visitors to the website can download and extract any location data from images on the website.

Cookies
If you leave a comment on our site you may opt-in to saving your name, email address and website in cookies. These are for your convenience so that you do not have to fill in your details again when you leave another comment. These cookies will last for one year.

If you visit our login page, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

When you log in, we will also set up several cookies to save your login information and your screen display choices. Login cookies last for two days, and screen options cookies last for a year. If you select "Remember Me", your login will persist for two weeks. If you log out of your account, the login cookies will be removed.

Google Analytics
When someone visits www.become-aligned.com we use a third party service, Google Analytics, to collect standard internet log information and details of visitor behaviour patterns. We do this to find out things such as the number of visitors to the various parts of the site. This information is only processed in a way which does not identify anyone. We do not make, and do not allow Google to make, any attempt to find out the identities of those visiting our website.

Embedded content from other websites
Articles on this site may include embedded content (e.g. videos, images, articles, etc.). Embedded content from other websites behaves in the exact same way as if the visitor has visited the other website.

These websites may collect data about you, use cookies, embed additional third-party tracking, and monitor your interaction with that embedded content, including tracking your interaction with the embedded content if you have an account and are logged in to that website.

Social Media
Communication, engagement and actions taken through external social media platforms that this website and its owners participate on are custom to the terms and conditions as well as the privacy policies held with each social media platform respectively.

Who we share your data with
We don’t share any personally identifying information publicly or with third-parties, except when required to by law.

How long we retain your data

In all cases, your data is only kept for as long as we need it to provide you with your requested service.

If you leave a comment, the comment and its metadata are retained indefinitely. This is so we can recognize and approve any follow-up comments automatically instead of holding them in a moderation queue.

For users that register on our website, we also store the personal information they provide in their user profile. All users can see, edit, or delete their personal information at any time (except they cannot change their username). Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this site, have sent an enquiry, have left comments, or are a client of ours, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us. You can also request that we erase any personal data we hold about you. This does not include any data we are obliged to keep for administrative, legal, or security purposes.

Where we send your data

Visitor comments may be checked through an automated spam detection service.
